Gardening

Most Probably Bare Minimum Requirements

As we are still getting into the gardening thing ourselves, we don’t have a full understanding of it yet……our gardening experiences are great examples for you to watch us learning in real life! When we really have a handle on our plot, we’ll write up a list to go in here……for now, you’ll just have to continue helping us make compost, weed, plant seeds, transplant seedlings, water, wonder why things die, harvest, stake, mound, mow lawns, prune, know how to care for tools, identify and eradicate pests and so on ad infinitum.

Reading some books might be a good idea too:

  • Read How To Grow More Vegetables by Jim Jeavons
  • Read The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery
  • Read Permaculture: A Designer’s Manual by Bill Mollison if you’re really keen

Other Possibilities include:

  • Read The Permaculture Home Garden by Linda Woodrow
  • establish a commercial worm farm
  • run a Christmas tree business
  • sell organic seedlings
  • organise a community garden
  • volunteer to do gardening at an old folk’s home
  • take sole charge of our garden for a year
